The obverse features Adolph Weinman's famous Walking Liberty Design first used on the 1916-47 Half Dollar. The new design now has the designers initials located on the obverse underneath “In God We Trust.”

The reverse design, released as the Type 2 Silver Eagle in 2021, was created by Emily Damstra. It features a bald eagle, wings spread, landing gracefully on a tree branch.

Following their historic release of the Silver Eagle Star Privy coin, the US Mint has produced a bullion Silver American Eagle with an eagle privy mark. Additionally, these coins are limited to a production of just 500,000 coins, making them one of the lowest mintage Silver Eagles to date.
